Learners Guild

Hi, all!

For those of my dear readers who still check in here from time to time, I thank you. I’ve not had a moment to update because I didn’t quite know what to say.

I’ve been very majorly, dramatically, impossibly busy as I make my way through my assignments for my software development apprenticeship at Learners Guild. It’s 10 months long and is truly rigorous.

It’s been quite a humbling experience and I’m very grateful. There are many a-ha moments and I’m so appreciative to be in such an inclusive environment. It’s almost like a coding utopia if there were such a thing.

Halloween went by and it’s my favorite holiday. I dressed up as Miss Peregrine and Halloween was on a Monday. You should have seen the looks that I got while I was carrying my wooden crossbow on the BART!

Perhaps I should share the links that I’ve been finding very helpful lately. For example, this week finds me delving into SQL in sort of an opposite fashion. A few weeks ago, I was on a team of 4 where we had to build a “simple bookstore” within a week. It turns out that it was anything BUT simple, but so it goes.

Now I’m getting some fundamental practice with SQL functions.

I’m working on the tutorials at SQL ZOO. A wonderful classmate shared this great resource. 18+ best online resources for learning database concepts.

Lunch time is almost over so I’ll quickly share my Github so you can get a specific idea of what I’ve been up to.

JavaScript resources: free JS books online , arrow function flowchart , JavaScript tutorials, a Google tech talk by Douglas Crockford: JavaScript: The Good Parts , the ultimate introduction to React , MDN’s lexical grammar , Javacript weekly

There are a lot more and I should probably update the resources section here.

Hopefully, I won’t be a stranger. I’ve updated slightly more often on my other site The Art of Resale with my thrift finds.
